Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) - Answer-is a centralized Amazon agency
whose mission is to provide critical support and timely notification to our global
operational partners and senior leadership regarding emergent events that have
impacted, or have the potential to impact, life, safety, operations, and/or the Amazon
brand.
Serious Incident Rate (SIR) - Answer-An incident is considered "serious" if it results in a
Level A or Level B human impact
Level A: Death of an associate or dependent contractor that occurred during Amazon
operations
Level B: Any incident to an associate or dependent contractor that occurred during
Amazon operations, that results in:
•fracture
•amputation (including fingertip) and/or loss of an organ;
•loss of consciousness;
•admittance to a hospital for 24 hours or longer
Injury Follow Up - Answer-After we've prioritized the safety and treatment of an injured
associate, we must document the injury.
Reporting and follow up tools:
•Initial Report Form
•Gensuite
•iCare
L4-L5 Leaders:
•Likely the first manager on scene of an injury
, •Gather details leading up to the injury
•Document and follow up
L6+ Leaders:
•Understand what actions need to be taken to support the situation
•Ensure documentation is complete
•Coach/Train as needed and follow up is at 100% compliance
Injury Follow Up Cadence - Answer-Within 24hrs after injury:
•L4+: Root cause analysis completed and uploaded. Action items identified and added
into Gensuite "Action Tracking System"
•L6+: A3 completed (if needed due to severity of injury)
Shift/Daily:
•L4+: IRF completed and uploaded into Gensuite.
•L4+: iCare reviewed, completed, and uploaded into Gensuite.
Weekly:
•L6+: review open action items in the ATS and support closure on time. Communicate
to station leadership on progress and expectation
Monthly/Quarterly:
•L6+: refresh current L4+ on process (as needed). Ensure new managers have been
trained before running their own shift.
EAP Updates: - Answer-As Needed: Review EAP with any new manager that comes on
site
Weekly: Conduct Interior/Exterior/Safety audits (AO)
Quarterly: EAP updates

LDAP: Lightweight Directory Access Protocol is used for most permissions granted
within AMZL
POSIX: Portable Operating System Interface POSIX groups are required only if you
need certain additional features such as file and/or software permissions
