The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) - ANS JCAHO,
now known simply as The Joint Commission, is a nonprofit organization that accredits and
certifies healthcare organizations and programs in the United States. Its mission is to improve

organizations based on these standards. Accreditation by The Joint Commission is voluntary but

disseminating research findings to healthcare providers, policymakers, and the public to

National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) - ANS NCQA is a private, nonprofit
organization that accredits and certifies healthcare organizations and programs in the United
States, focusing on quality measurement and improvement in healthcare delivery. NCQA sets
