- a hypothesis is defined as an educated guess

- null means zero. so a null hypothesis states that two variables are not related.

- an independent variable is something that you change within an experiment

- it is spotted by looking out of place
- for eg. 2,2,3,19,3,2 --> 19 is the anomaly as it doesn't fit in with the values
,- if an anomalous result is found we don't include when calculating any statastical
tests such as t-test, ki squared or even when calculating a mean value.
how do we calculate the mean value of a set of value
- first put numbers in order
- identify any anomalies
- add all the numbers together
- divide the answer by how many numbers there are
- = mean value :)

- standard deviation is the number that shows the amount off variation in a set of
