solution
A. My lesson's objective is for students to write and count numbers 1-10 independently with
at least 90% accuracy when given a specific number of manipulatives. The observable
behavior expected is the ability to write and count while being monitored. The condition
for this task is being independent. The criteria for success is a minimum accuracy rate of
90%.
B. To assess my students' understanding during independent practice, I will ask them
guiding questions and collect work samples at the end of the lesson. For instance, I might
ask, "How did you count the birds in the tree?" I'll record their responses using a notepad
during observation and collect their work samples to evaluate their ability to count
objects accurately. To provide specific feedback, I'll verbally praise or correct them
during the lesson and mark their work samples with green checks for correct answers and
red X's for incorrect ones. I'll also offer recommendations on how to fix specific
problems. With this formative assessment, I'll be able to identify where each student is
excelling and struggling, which will help me provide targeted support rather than
reteaching the entire lesson. Through the formative assessment, I will use the data to
make groups based on the results of this assessment. In my groups, I will have a rotation
that will work directly with me, and I will be able to provide remediation on this content
area to the students who struggle. The students who met or exceeded the learning
objective will be given an acceleration period over the content to deepen their knowledge
and further promote their learning. This approach will help my students progress toward
meeting their learning objectives.
