1.What are you going to do for your project and what is your research question ?
I am going to work on food and safety in Canada, particularly focus on the effectiveness of
food safety rules and their impacts on public health. Moreover, I will look at the current
government laws regarding the food safety and I will also research on the agencies who does
food inspection as well as take measures to prevent food borne diseases in the country.
Research question : How effective are the Canada’s food safety standards at preventing food
borne diseases, and what changes are needed ?
2.What do you hope to accomplish with your research project ?
I want to get a full understanding of Canada’s food safety standards by conducting
interviews, analyzing government reports, media articles. I will identify critical difficulties
for the government and provide significant suggestions to reform. Furthermore, my main aim
in research is to educate the people and politicians about the importance of improved food
safety standards by giving a clear assessment of Canadian food safety measures (Greenberg,
L. 2001).
3. Write two possible thesis statements – which one do you like better and why ?
Thesis Statements are given below such as :
1.“Despite the strong regulatory framework in Canada, foodborne illness remains a
significant issue, requiring further updates to food safety policies and practices.”
2. “Canada’s food safety regulations are largely effective, but the rise of new pathogens
and globalization demand ongoing adjustments to ensure continued protection of public
health.”
