No further psychosexual development takes place during this stage. Freud thought that most sexual impulses are repressed during the latent stage & sexual energy can be sublimated towards school work, hobbies & friendships.(school, same sex partners) Genital Stage - (12+yrs) Libido & affection combine to produce mature sexual relationships. Autonomy vs Shame & Doubt - ✔✔(2-3)As toddlers, children begin to develop
independence & start to learn that they can do some things on their own ( such as going
to the toilet). If a child is not encouraged properly at this age, he or she might develop
shame & doubt about their abilities.(toilet training)
