1. The process of understanding our own experiences and the experiences of others

through verbal and nonverbal communication.

2. Communication bravado

3. Know yourself, evaluate the professional context, your communication interaction, step

back and reflect

4. Encode

5. Context

6. “An individual’s level of fear/anxiety associated with either real or anticipated

communication with another person(s).

7. Ethics

8. Ethical considerations

1. We use communication as a sender and receiver all day everyday for our whole lives. It

is important to take a step back and evaluate yourself of how we are effectively talking

to people or an audience. For example, a cars salesman needs to present to the

customer what caters to them and listening to the concerns of the customer on what

would be the best fit car for them.

2. Communication is important because it allows us to give our responses or audience

the best information possible.

3. This allows us to tell the receiver the best information for them to understand and for us

to listen with the intent to understand what they are talking about or asking about.

, 4. The K in Keys stands for “know yourself.” This states that we as speakers need to

evaluate how we are talking to people and what ways are we doing so. Evaluating the

professional contexts means we need to see what the audience is needing to

understand or learn from us when giving a presentation or talking in a conversation.

Your communication interaction requires us to be able to notice our own verbal and

nonverbal cues in a conversation. Last, Stepping back and reflecting which is basically

seeing how you talk to others verbally and non-verbally.

5. A troubles I usually have when talking to people is not using the right words or explains

things in a way people can’t understand. By using K is to realize what I am saying before

saying a sentence. By using E I can listen with the intent to properly answer their

question appropriately. Y can be used by using the correct words and terms to

effectively get my point across to the receiver so they are not left confused in the end. I

can use S by thinking about the conversation later and see what I could’ve changed or

do better at the next time the question arises.

1. Audience based communication apprehension- the fear of speaking to certain

people or groups. An example of this could be they are afraid to speak to other

colleagues but are comfortable to speak with their friends or family.

2. Channel- the method of which you send your message. I am sending an email to my

team of real estate agents of when the closing of a house is being taken place.

3. Communication apprehension- is someone’s level of fear or anxiety with either real

or anticipated communication with someone else. An example of this could be you

end up doing something your not supposed to and your parents find out. You will
