repetitive elements. The story is suitable because it involves a simple plot of creating
a coat and a natural disaster that occurs when the coats get stolen. This plot is

* **7-Year-Olds:** At this age, children begin to enjoy stories with humour and
elements of fantasy. This story is humorous as the animals are all working together
to make a coat for Jackal. They are working together and are excited about the idea
of the coat to protect them from the cold.

* **8-Year-Olds:** At this age, children understand simple plots and enjoy stories
that explore cause and effect. The dassies' collective effort to prepare the coat,
followed by the selfish actions of the jackal, leads to the dassies losing their tails,
demonstrating a clear cause-and-effect relationship that children of this age can
understand.

* **9-Year-Olds:** At this age, children enjoy stories that are more complex and
engaging. The story is about team effort and how one person's greed can destroy a
team. This deeper complexity in the narrative makes it engaging and makes this
appropriate for a nine-year-old.
