goals and techniques of Carl Rogers’ client centered therapy.
Psychoanalysis is Freud’s approach to helping patients with their underlying problems and it
looks at why they subconsciously take the actions that they do in life. It helps the person express
the feelings that they usually can’t and it helps them understand their goals, needs, etc.
Psychoanalysis helps people get to the root of their problems/disorders and help the move
forward with their life by gaining an understanding of their feelings and why they suffer from
certain disorders. Some of the techniques include free association, resistances, interpretation, and
transference. Free association is just saying the things that pop up in your head. Resistances are
the defensive techniques of trying to not face things that trigger anxiety and then interpretation
why it triggers them. Transference is just dealing with feelings that have been repressed for a
long time. The goal of Carl Rogers’ client centered therapy is to focus more on the things
affecting a person presently and looking towards the future as opposed to Freud’s method which
focuses on the past. His technique was active listening which is supposed to help with empathy
and acceptance. The goal is to help the client be aware of themselves and to accept who they are,
in this environment clients feel welcome to express feelings that they normally wouldn’t which
can help with their growth.

psychological disorders?
Women and men are both susceptible to certain factors that lead to the development of
depression like low self-esteem, marital problems, child abuse. etc. The gender differences in
psychological disorders are because women are more likely to develop disorder that deal with
