instruction. While cyber schools existed prior to the start of the pandemic, it wasn't a common

entity. A lot of schools throughout the country had to find ways to produce content that could

seamlessly transfer and translate online to students either in quarantine or home out of

precaution. While subjects like Math and Science were easily integrated, there was a lack of

resources for the Humanities such as ELA and Social Studies where there seemed to be a lack of

resources, at least on my end to help in this sudden transition that occurred. When looking at

curriculum developing, in a cyber school setting, teachers must design a curriculum that is not

only aligned with state standards but also optimized for online delivery. This involves selecting

appropriate content, resources, and activities that engage students in meaningful learning

experiences. Curriculum developers in this context must consider how to adapt traditional social

studies materials for an online environment, including the use of multimedia, interactive

simulations, and virtual field trips.

When looking at it from an instructional point of view, effective and engaging teaching in

a cyber school setting requires the use of varied instructional strategies to engage students and

cater to diverse learning styles. Curriculum and instruction specialists provide guidance on

incorporating active learning techniques, such as collaborative projects, discussions, and inquiry-

based activities, into the online social studies curriculum. They can also advise on the use of
