Kinetics:  Rate of Reaction: Understand factors that affect the rate of reaction, such as concentration, temperature, surface area, and catalysts.  Activation Energy: Study activation energy and its impact on reaction rates. Understand the Arrhenius equation and how temperature affects the rate constant. 6. Thermodynamics:  Enthalpy: Understand the concepts of exothermic and endothermic reactions, and how to calculate enthalpy changes using Hess’s Law and bond enthalpies.  Entropy: Study entropy and its role in determining the spontaneity of reactions (Gibbs free energy equation, ΔG = ΔH - TΔS).  Gibbs Free Energy: Focus on calculating ΔG to determine whether a reaction is spontaneous under certain conditions. 7.
