,For A-Level Panjabi Paper 2: Writing, focus on the following key areas:
1. Essay Writing:
Topic Selection: Choose essay topics from a range of themes, such as culture, society, history,
or literature. Make sure the topic is relevant to your syllabus.
Structure: Organize your essay with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion.
Each body paragraph should discuss a distinct point, supported by evidence or examples.
Argument Development: Practice developing clear, logical arguments. Provide reasons,
explanations, and evidence to support your viewpoints.
Language and Style: Use formal and appropriate language for essay writing. Avoid overly
complex sentence structures, but aim for sophistication and clarity. Use a range of vocabulary
and ensure grammar is correct.
Linking Ideas: Use transitional words and phrases (e.g., "therefore," "furthermore," "on the other
hand") to connect your ideas and make the essay flow smoothly.
2. Descriptive Writing:
Vivid Description: Focus on using sensory details to describe people, places, or events. Use
rich adjectives and adverbs to create vivid imagery.
Evoking Emotion: Make your descriptions engaging by appealing to the reader's senses and
emotions. Ensure that the setting and characters come alive in the reader’s mind.
Focus on Structure: Organize your description logically (e.g., from top to bottom, left to right, or
in chronological order) to help the reader follow your narrative easily.
3. Narrative Writing:
Storytelling: Create a compelling story with a clear beginning, middle, and end. Introduce
characters, settings, and conflicts that engage the reader.
Character Development: Make sure your characters are well-developed and relatable. Focus on
their motivations, actions, and how they change throughout the story.
Use of Tenses: Pay attention to verb tenses, ensuring consistency throughout the narrative. Shift
tenses appropriately when needed (e.g., past tense for storytelling, present tense for dialogue).
4. Letter Writing:
Formal Letters: Understand the conventions for formal letters (e.g., letters of complaint,
applications, requests). Maintain a polite, respectful tone, and structure the letter correctly
(salutation, body, conclusion).
Informal Letters: When writing informal letters, keep a friendly tone but be mindful of cultural
appropriateness. Use appropriate language and expressions for casual correspondence.
