you applied these dispositions in the Muzzy Lane professional setting as you
engaged with others.
One disposition that was used was communication. In this lesson I had to listen to a
situation that was happening to a fellow student. They are upset because of the
feedback they received on their assignment. Me and another student listened to her
frustration regarding the situation and then gave her advice on what steps she should
take. When listening to the email that she was about to send I noticed that she did not
have a professional and respectful tone which is necessary to have when speaking to
mentors, teachers and others. We stopped them from sending this email and looked at
the steps that they cold take which included looking at the feedback they received on
the work as well as looking at the rubric. This was done because the rubric tells us
exactly what we need to do in order to successfully turn in an assignment, she was not
looking at this and was frustrated that she did not know what she was doing wrong,
once we showed her this it helped her determine what she could fix.
This lesson helped me understand how to better accept feedback. While not always
positive it is necessary to take it and try to fix what you are missing because it will help
in the long run either academically or professionally. Reflection is necessary when
growing as an individual so one needs to make sure they are actively listening and
applying feedback.
