II. Problem: The issue in my community that I choose to focus on is the lack of

construction costs, and regulatory barriers such as zoning restrictions.
Additionally, there is a systemic failure of the private market to adequately serve
renters with the lowest incomes, who are often people of color, seniors, and
individuals living with disabilities. These challenges are compounded by
economic inequality and disparities in access to resources, making it difficult for
low-income families to find housing that is both affordable and suitable for their
needs.
