Chapter 1: What is Organisational Behaviour?

1. The term used to describe the study of how people behave as individuals and in
groups within organisations is called Organisational Behaviour. This field looks at
how people interact, communicate, and work together in the workplace to help
organisations run better.
2. The discipline that mainly helps us understand what motivates people in
organisations is Psychology. Psychology focuses on human behaviour,
emotions, and thinking, which are all important when it comes to understanding
why people act the way they do at work.
3. The key outcome of understanding organisational behaviour in a company is that
it helps to improve teamwork, increase productivity, and create a better working
environment. When managers understand how people behave, they can
motivate employees, solve conflicts, and help teams work well together.




Scenario Analysis: Diversity in the Workplace
At GlobalTech, the company is proud of having a diverse group of employees from
different cultures and backgrounds. However, diversity has brought some challenges.
For example, when people from the US, India, and South Africa worked on a project
