Ideology
Political party and Political ideology are two different things. “The difference between a
political party and political ideology is that a political party is created to win elections and
operate the government and political ideology is trying to work a different set of ideas through
a different angle to give a fair view of how the society should be” (Ask Any Difference, Page 1,
Paragraph 2). When saying your political party its usually referred to where you stand when
voting and how you identify yourself with. Theres multiple parties which include: Democratic,
Republican, Libertarian, green and constitution party, but today we will be talking about the
different types for political ideologies. The different views for political ideology are moderate,
conservative, liberal, radical, and reactionary.
“A political ideology is a set of ideas, beliefs, values, and opinions, exhibiting recurring
pattern, that competes deliberately as well as unintentionally over providing plans of action for
public policy making in an attempt to justify, explain, contest. Arrangements and process of a
political community” (M. Freeden, Page 1, Paragraph 1). Just because you identify with a certain
ideology, does not mean you have to agree with everything that group believes in. When you
say what your ideology is, it just means you lean more towards those beliefs and ideas.
, A political moderate is usually very open-minded when to comes to each party. “Some of
these people may identify with a particular party or they may describe themselves as
independents” (Jacob Queen, Page 1, Paragraph 1). Moderates are in the middle of being a
conservate and a liberal. They like the political system how it is currently. Although they do see
some changes that could be made for the better. They are for change but not everything needs
to be changed.
Conservative's respect and go by more of traditional values and beliefs. They believe
there should be change but are more cautious going about it. “Conservatives base their
ideology on what they see as a reason and logic and it is individualistic by nature. A conservative
is interested in curing society's ills by individual exercising their own chance to better
themselves” (Christian Walker, Page 1, Paragraph 6). Just like a moderate they like how the
political system is. They see that there are flaws but are not big on changing them because they
worry it could make things worse.
Unlike a conservative, a liberal would be willing to get rid of traditional values when it
comes to politics. They have more point of views and are more open to understanding someone
else's. “Liberalism political doctrine that takes protecting and enhancing the freedom of the
individual to be the central problem of politics” (Richard Dagger, Page 1, Paragraph 1). Liberals
are not a fan of how the political system is right now. They see a lot of things that could be
changed and are more willing to change the system rather than someone who had beliefs of a
conservative.
