To avoid the loss of drug, do not
expel the air bubble from the
syringe before the injection
Interactions
Risk of bleeding may be ↑ by concurrent use of drugs that
affect platelet function and coagulation ↑ bleeding risk with
arnica, chamomile, clove, feverfew, garlic, ginger, ginkgo,
Panax ginseng, and others
Client Education
Instruct patient in correct technique for self
injection, care and disposal of equipment.
Evaluation of Medication Effectiveness Advise patient to report any symptoms of
unusual bleeding or bruising, dizziness,
Prevention of DVT and pulmonary emboli (enoxaparin and dalteparin). itching, rash, fever, swelling, or difficulty
Resolution of DVT and pulmonary embolism (enoxaparin only). breathing to health care professional
Prevention of ischemic complications (with aspirin) in patients with unstable immediately.
angina or non–ST-segment—elevation MI (enoxaparin and dalteparin). Instruct patient not to take aspirin or NSAIDs
Treatment of acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (enoxaparin without consulting health care professional
