Membership: Current membership in an affiliated local estate planning council. Educational Requirements: For applicants with 5 to 15 years of estate planning experience, the following graduate courses are required: Advanced Estate Management and Planned Giving: This course provides an overview of gift, estate, and generation-skipping transfer tax laws, tax computation processes, and discusses the ownership and taxation of property transfers during lifetime and at death, including marital, charitable giving, and life insurance planning. THEAMERICANCOLLEGE.EDU Elective Course: One elective course from the following options: Financial Statement Analysis and Small Business Valuation Business Succession Strategies Planning for Impact in the Context of Family Wealth Charitable Giving Strategies Executive Compensation Examination and Certification: Upon meeting the eligibility and educational requirements, candidates must: Application: Submit a comprehensive application to the NAEPC, including proof of education, professional experience, and references. Examination: Complete a proctored final examination assessing knowledge across various estate planning topics. Continuing Education: Maintain the designation by completing 30 hours of continuing education every two years, with at least 15 hours dedicated to estate planning.
