Vignette Assumption 
Jasper has a hard time making friends and knowing how to interact with them.

Jasper’s caregivers are not on same page with anything, including his ADHD diagnosis. Jennifer states that Jasper is a “boy being a boy,” and
that Mindy is the one with all of the issues. In the past, Jennifer has sabotaged any and all services or activities (day care, Pre-K, Taekwondo,
music lessons) that were set up by Mindy. Mindy set up these services and activities in order to be able to get back to work and to have
Jasper gain social and academic opportunities; now he has no activities in his free time.

Jennifer has been dating a number of people in the last few months and Jasper states he is scared of them when they sleep over. Jasper
stated to Mindy that, “Momma has had a lot of sleepovers lately, and some of these people are not nice to me.” When Mindy asks for more
information, Jasper says he is too anxious to fall asleep there, but otherwise can’t say because he “doesn’t want to get Momma in trouble.”
Mindy has asked Jennifer about these encounters, but Jennifer states that she is allowed to date whomever she wants whenever she wants
to, and that Jasper will be fine. Mindy tells Jennifer that he is not fine and that he comes home exhausted every time he stays with her.

Mindy states that she agrees with Jasper’s diagnosis but is feeling helpless when Jennifer disrupts her efforts to help Jasper get the care and
services that he would benefit from She is very concerned that Jennifer will continue to sabotage any services put in place Mindy states that

better watch out.” School also reports that Jasper expresses a lot of worry and anxiety on the days that Jennifer picks him up. On those days
they have seen him get more irritable and agitated as the day progresses. He often acts out in hopes that he does not have to go to Jennifer’s
home. Jasper and his teachers have come up with the idea of a standing desk for him as a way to increase attention and focus. They are
about a week into this new adjustment and stated that they are still getting a feel for it. It was recently discovered that Jasper is triggered by
another student’s aide who reminds him of someone Jennifer recently brought into their home. When this aide first came into the room,
Jasper immediately stood up, flipped his desk and began throwing items at the aide. The aide is no longer in the classroom, but still present
in the school. In the 2 weeks since the incident, Jasper has verbally threatened the adults in the classroom when he doesn’t want to follow a
direction he has been given. Jasper has stated that he knows that he should not act out in school but cannot control the outburst in class.
