SCENARIO #1: Four year old Julie Taylor enjoys taking rides with her mother to
the grocery and for other errands. Her mother owns a yellow station wagon. Every time
they pass another yellow station wagon, Julie says, “Look, there’s Mommy’s car!!”
One Saturday afternoon, Julie and her mother are out running errands again, and
Julie spots a group of people getting in and out of a taxi cab at a corner. She suddenly
realizes that this cannot be her mother’s car.
