interaction and have fun
Describe a time where you had to work with difficult co-workers, what did you do? - CORRECT
ANSWER - I don't take any action on any issue in front of the customers. I rather wait
until the end of my shift and discuss the issue with my co-worker. One time I can think of is
when I and another coworker stayed late to serve dinner and deserts as a waiter. I was serving the
main course but my other coworker spent most of the time texting in the kitchen. After a couple
hours of this, we both took a break. We were making small talk and I told her I would be finished
with my half of the work very soon. She joked and said she had barely begun serving drinks. I
politely let her know that it wasn't funny because we both had to leave together and I couldn't
complete mine and help her by the end of the service. She felt bad and started to hurry up after
our break. We still did have to work later than I originally expected but at least we were working
together and not just me.
Tell us about a time where you had fun on the job. A great customer service - CORRECT
ANSWER - I think be professional is very important to me, however having a sense of
humor is also necessary in the job. One time I met a delightful couple from Connecticut and their
two boys at my former job as a waiter in New York. We ended up laughing throughout the entire
dining experience about how can we identify someone from connecticut in New York and a New
Yorker in Connecticut. That feeling is amazing that I can make people enjoy themselves while in
my care. Always has been and it always will be.
Describe a time where you had to make a decision at the job, which you wished you had done
differently. - CORRECT ANSWER - I had a student that was applying for 4 weeks English
as a second language class . She needed me to fill out some forms to help her get student visa
approved and the deadline to turn in the forms was in two weeks from when we got the
paperwork. I couldn't fill out her forms right away because although we help with visa process
she was unable to show the English test proficiency required to all foreign students. So in order
, to complete her immigration forms we needed her English test scores records to be faxed over. I
contacted her previous school of her country to put the request and that day I didn't receive them.
Weeks pass, the deadline, I contacted the school as many times as possible to try and rush them
but still try didn't send them to us. So, unfortunately, that student visa was denied. The student
was extremely upset and I apologized to her. I tried my best to help her but it was out of my
hands.
