lead to differences in functions

Human cells have three basic parts:
Plasma membrane: flexible outer boundary
Cytoplasm: intracellular fluid containing organelles
Nucleus: DNA containing control center

Have both hydrophobic and hydrophilic regions
Hydrophobic areas interact with lipid tails
