The objective of the lab is to create a graphical analysis that displays the relationship between
time and distance during a trip from Calgary to Edmonton.
Procedure
I will begin with the table provided (table 1) and convert time in minutes (tm) to time in hours
(th), as well as the uncertainty. This is useful as our distance has been recorded in kilometers.
From there, I will plot the points on a time versus distance graph (figure 1). This will indicate an
approximate speed throughout the trip and demonstrate the linear fashion of the graph.
By using the collected data, I will be able to calculate slope (average speed), y intercept, and
write the equation of the best-fit linear graph.
