manner and be pain free. good hygiene techniques include changing
perineal pads from front to back
-thorough hand hygiene prior to and after
perineal care.

infection worsens -administer IV antibiotics
wound does not heal -administer analgesics for pain control
-monitor temperature frequently to ensure
antibiotics are effective
-frequent vital signs
-assess pain
-observe lochia for color, quantity,
consistency
