Southwest Airlines
Part 1:
1. Offerings:
It is important that a company like Southwest create a wonderful experience
for their consumers from the booking to check in, to the In-Flight Experience to
Disembark. “Offerings are products and services designed to deliver value to
customers—either to fulfill their needs, satisfy their "wants," or both.” (Saylor, 2015,
p1, para3). Based on the definition Southwest has a number of offering to offer their
patrons from that attract customer to their brand. For example, allowing “bags fly
free”, no charge for changing the booking, free inflight entertainment through the
Southwest app, a free non-alcoholic drinks, snacks and Wi-Fi for $8.00 a day (In the
air…, n.d.). They offer a lot value for the purchase of a ticket. Another value that they
offer which is unique to any other carrier is that they only use one model in their fleet
which is Boeing-737 as seen below:
