Fixed-wing aircraft structure - ANSWER 1. Fuselage
2. Wings
3. Tail assembly, or empennage

4. Landing gear

5. Powerplant

6. Flight instruments and control surfaces.

fuselage - The body of an airplane. The cockpit, cabin, cargo room (if
applicable), and attachment points for other important airplane components,
such as wings, tail section, and landing gear, are all located here.

The cockpit is where the pilots and flight crew handle the aircraft's operations.

Answer 1: There are two sorts of fuselage construction designs. truss

2. monocoque

Truss construction fuselages - ANSWER employ steel or aluminum tubing in a
sequence of triangle forms (called trusses) to achieve the necessary strength and
rigidity.

Monocoque designs use bulkheads, stringers (running the length of the
fuselage) and formers (perpendicular to stringers) of various sizes and forms to
support a stretched or "stressed" skin.

Wings are airfoils attached to each side of the fuselage that act as the primary
lifting surfaces for the airplane while in flight.

An airfoil is a portion or surface of an aircraft that affects lift, direction,
stability, thrust, or propulsion.

,monoplanes are airplanes with a single set of wings.

Biplanes are airplanes having two sets of wings.

The internal wing spars, ribs, and stringers, as well as the construction of the
wing's skin or covering, provide support for the cantilever wing, which does not
require external bracing.

Semi-cantilever wings require both internal bracing and external support from
struts attached to the fuselage.

ailerons stretch from roughly the middle of the wing out toward the wingtip;
they move in opposite directions to provide aerodynamic forces that cause the
airplane to roll.

Flaps - ANSWER stretch outward from the point where the wing joins the
fuselage (known as the wing root) to roughly the middle of the trailing edge.
When cruising, the flaps are normally flush with the rest of the wing surface;
when extended, they move downward together to increase the wing's lift during
takeoffs and landings. Most prevalent high-lift devices.

The chord line is the distance between the leading and trailing edges of the
wing. Cuts the airfoil into two surfaces: upper and lower.

The mean camber line is the curve formed by plotting the spots halfway
between the upper and lower surfaces.

Camber - Determine the greatest difference between the mean camber line and
the chord line. A measure of airfoil curvature.

Thickness is the largest difference between the top and lower surfaces.

wingtips are the extremities of the wings.

wingspan is the distance from one wingtip to the other.

, A planform - ANSWER the shape of the wing as seen from above

The dihedral angle occurs when the left and right wings are not truly horizontal
to the fuselage and instead meet at this angle. Built into the design for roll
stability, a wing with some dihedral will naturally revert to its original position
if it meets a minor displacement.

Answer 1: Modern airplanes have three primary wing types. straight

2. Sweep

3. Delta

Straight wings are commonly found on small, low-speed airplanes, gliders, and
sailplanes. These wings provide the most efficient lift at low speeds, but are not
very excellent for high-speed flying, especially when approaching the speed of
sound.

The most popular design for modern high-speed airplanes is swept wings, which
can be forward swept or swept back. Produces less drag than straight wing
designs, but is slightly more unstable at low speeds.

modest sweep - ANSWER commercial jetliner, resulting in less drag while
maintaining stability at slower speeds

Fighter planes have wings. - ANSWER a larger sweep, which do not generate
much lift during low-speed flight and necessitate comparatively high-speed
take-offs and landings.

Delta wings - ANSWER resembles a huge triangle from above. It features a
high sweep angle and a straight trailing edge. Airplanes with this wing
configuration can attain supersonic speeds and land at high speeds.
