NURSFPX 6214 Assessment 3
, Assessing The Adequacy Of Existing Telehealth Technology Infrastructure
After reviewing the telehealth technology infrastructure at Pacific Grove Medical Center
(PGMC), it is evident that the existing infrastructure is enough to support the implementation of
the proposed telehealth solution that is, integrating electronic pill dispensers.
PGMC's infrastructure uses resilient hardware and software systems, sufficient network
capabilities, and telehealth platforms that have been tried and proven during past healthcare
initiatives. Moreover, the systems display scalability capability, which makes it easy to integrate
the increase in telehealth usage and the introduction of new technologies.
Interoperability is boosted by PGMC's existing platform, which has systems able to
transmit data smoothly and quickly. This ensures seamless integration of the new telehealth
program, which takes advantage of electronic pill dispensers and is geared towards continuity of
care between healthcare providers.
In addition, PGMC's infrastructure complies with the highest security and compliance
standards, including HIPAA regulations, thereby preserving the privacy and confidentiality of
patient information. Thorough security measures are developed to prevent unauthorized access
and data breaches, keeping patient information safe at all times.
Both patients and providers will appreciate the telehealth technology of the PGMC as it
promises a high level of usability and satisfaction. The IT will address any minor usability issues
through constant enhancements and user training programs.
In summary, according to the assessment, it can be ascertained that PGMC's current
telehealth infrastructure is well-equipped to support the rollout of the new telehealth solution and
electronic pill dispensers, guaranteeing smooth integration, stable service delivery and enhanced
patient care.
