CASE STUDY – HR SOLUTIONS AFTER COVID-19 HR Solutions is a small consulting company consisting of 25 employees. It was established about ten years ago when three students, Simon, Thabo and Nick, registered HR Solutions as a company. The company primarily focuses on psychometric assessments and organisational development in Africa. Management consists of the three founders and the wives of Simon and Nick, who later joined. They work in teams and used to meet weekly. Before the pandemic, the company was profitable and growing fast, investing most of its profit in developing new assessment and development tools for their clients. They all enjoyed their work and were committed to the company. They were also proud of their accomplishments and regularly celebrated their successes by giving recognition to colleagues. As a result of the pandemic, everything changed. The company went, according to Simon, into survival mode. They now find it difficult to collaborate, blaming each other for excessive expenses. The change has also negatively affected their clients. Their blended approach to work and the online meetings is not as successful as expected. Team members blame management for lacking direction after the pandemic and accuse them of being more concerned about their families than about the company.
