However, different organizations apply different forms of leadership. Therefore, this paper explores the significance of applying a suitable leadership style that influences employee performance and engagement and defines different types of leadership: servant, transactional and transformational leadership while explaining their difference. Lastly, this paper discusses the cons and pros of these leadership approaches while exploring every situation where the leadership style works well. The Importance Of Applying a Suitable Leadership Style Research indicates that applying a suitable leadership style is essential and influential as it increases workers' performance and engagement, enabling a leader to attain the organizational goal for the set time (Gandolfi & Sone, 2018). Ariussanto et al. (2020) define worker performance as work accomplished by groups or people by obeying their obligation and respective rights to attain organizational objectives. Leaders are mandated to get the best from workers through employee engagement. Employee engagement refers to personal initiative, effort, adaptation, or tenacity in attaining a firm's objectives. Therefore, every leadership approach ensures workers are motivated differently to attain organizational goals. However, Sudky’s (2021) research indicates that the wrong leadership approach will likely jeopardize the firm's overall performance. Today, the world is experiencing leadership problems or crises. This is because leadership is significantly multi-faceted, complex, and difficult for different firms. However, leadership enables managers to examine their worker perception and perspective.

, Defining The Servant, Transactional, And Transformational Leadership

Servant, transactional, and transformational leadership are three major leadership styles applied

globally by different organizations. Every leadership style plays a significant in influencing

worker performance and engagement. This leadership approaches help managers to address

different business challenges and motivate workers while ensuring the firm or the businesses

survive the shortcomings and risks (Sedky, 2021).

Transformational leaders refer to the leadership approach whereby the managers aim to

influence and engage workers by creating a compelling organizational culture, strategy, and

vision. This leadership style concentrates on a manager who acts with their consent without

influencing workers' or followers' perspectives. These managers have knowledge and charisma

concerning their field of interest. They can encourage workers while keeping higher levels of

energy. Transformative leaders exhibit traits like dedication, commitment, trust, and thinking

creatively. This leadership approach emphasizes idealized traits and behaviors, inspiring

motivation, and intellectual stimulation. The research by Eliyana & Ma'arif (2019) indicates that

transformational leaders also consider intellectual stimulation and first persona.

Moreover, Northouse (2022) states that transformational leaders appropriately form a

clear firm's vision while steering it toward a new direction to help it attain its goals. Workers are

motivated to strive toward the same objective under transformational leadership. It occasionally

involves going above and beyond what is required of you, but I believe every employee must

aspire to do better than they did the day before.

In transactional leadership, managers leaders their followers via contingent rewards and

punishment in motivating workers. Contingent rewards refer to compensation that the

subordinates receive from the manager for performing well. Sedky (2021) defines transaction
