FATS
Enzymes are biological catalysts that speed up chemical
reactions in living organisms without being consumed in the
process. These are typically proteins, although some RNA
molecules (ribozymes) can also act as enzymes.
Structure of Enzymes
Enzyme structure determines their ability to catalyse
reactions.
Primary Structure: The linear sequence of amino acids i
polypeptide chain. This sequence determines how the
protein will fold and therefore function.

Quaternary Structure
Some enzymes consist of multiple polypeptide chains
(subunits) that come together to form a functional enzyme
For example, haemoglobin
has four subunits, two of
which are ⍺-helices and two
are ß-sheets.
