• Includes adult & learner who interact w/ one another.
• Adult uses teaching skills, curriculum, prepared lesson plan, resources, assessment, etc.
Creative Arts
• All human beings have urge to create beauty.
• Many ways of expressing: photographs, sculptures, etc.
Creativity
• Turning new & creative ideas into reality.
• Ability to express yourself.
• Curious learners learn faster and retain info longer.
• Teachers can show love for art & set up creative classroom by:
o captivating learner’s attention.
o creating welcoming, open & safe learning environment.
o inspire learners to explore & question.
o using strategies which encourage interest in creativity.
o providing fun & order in lessons.
o encourage open communication through discussions.
o encouraging risk taking to create new ideas.
o valuing all creative efforts & ideas.
o assignments where learners develop creativity at their own pace.
Competencies of beginner teacher
• Must be knowledgeable on subject being taught.
• Know how to select teaching methods to accommodate all.
• Know learners & dif. learning styles to adjust teaching methods accordingly.
• Communicate effectively.
• Have well-developed numeracy, literacy & info technology skills.
• Know school curriculum.
• Understand diversity in SA.
• Identify learning & social problems.
• Work w/ professional service providers to address problems.
