Question 1 1. The role of the teacher in general in consideration for the roles in the Technology subject is to teach learners in different classrooms. Many people would say the main responsibility of the teacher is to present meaningful lessons in a particular subject so that his or her learners can understand what that particular subject entails. You have been appointed as a teacher on a vacancy at a school. As a teacher, you are allocated to teach Technology in a school which does not have adequate resources. Your lesson should be in line with PROCESSING as a theme for the Technology curriculum. 2. You are a class teacher with the same school children in a school who were affected by the COVID 19 Virus. Some of the children travel long distance to arrive at their schools in cold weather conditions. Within the subject Technology that you teach, transformation of energy is one of the themes that you teach. You decide to teach and implement the transformation of energy theme i n a class and it becomes easier since there were some left over materials after the children worked on the last project under processing. Plan to teach the lesson and aim that the learners should be able to develop a project that would demonstrate the co ncept of transformation of energy. Use the following themes to teach the lesson: Question 3 3. Write a lesson plan with all components in a lesson about the electricity. Question 4 4. The design process (Investigate, Design, Make, Evaluate, Communicate IDMEC) forms the backbone of the Technology subject and should be used to structure the delivery of all learning outcomes. Learners should be exposed to a problem, need or opportunity as a starting point. They should then engage in a systematic process that allows them to develop solutions that solve problems, rectify design issues and satisfy needs. Learners should be able to apply the design process with regard to a variety of technological activities. You have been appointed as a new teacher in the school and the head of the school discovered that you understand how to teach the IDMEC process. You have been considered to explain to the different teachers in schools about how you teach the learners the IDMEC process. EXPLAIN each step in the process in five lines. Question 5 5. The teaching of the Technology subject requires a well prepared teacher who is able to able to prepare for the needs of all the children in the classroom. During your preparation for the lessons, you need to consider the following, the learning context, the multiple intelligences of the children in the classroom, the learner related aspects and the strategies and approaches for the delivery of the content.
