, Introduction
• This presentation will include the identification of rights and
responsibilities of the employer and employees within British Airw
Along with the analysis of rights and responsibilities of the employe
and employees within British Airways.
• It is an employer's duty to protect the health, safety and welfare o
their employees and other people who might be affected by their
business.1 Employers responsibilities and Employee rights are very
important in a work place as it can effect the day to day functioning
a business.

• Employment Act 2002 contained new rules on maternity, paternity and
adoption leave and pay, and changes to the Tribunal system in the United
Kingdom.1
• The Employment act needs to be followed by all businesses because all
employees in a work place have the right to be given theses things if require
• Women get 26 week paid maternity leave and men have 2 weeks of paternit
leave which they can take to be at home with their child and partner
• For example employees at British Airways will need to make sure that they a
providing their employees with these rights when they require it. British
airways employees a number of women and men who are in the age range t
be having children. This means that they need to be able to provide their
employees with the time off that they have the right to.

act. Sex Discrimination Act 1975, Race Relations Act 1976, Disability Discrimination A
1995 and recent amendments.
• Sex Discrimination Act 1975 is an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom which
protected men and women from discrimination on the grounds of sex or marital sta

job because they have a disability. This act allows people with disabilities from being
discriminated against.
