Before cooking, season the steak with salt and pepper to
taste. If you salt it sooner and let it sit for a while, the salt
will draw out the juices. Let the steak sit at room
temperature before cooking it. If you plan to cook the steak
within the next few hours, it should be brought out to room
temperature at least half an hour before cooking. You can
use herbs such as rosemary or thyme to flavor the steak if
desired. You can also purchase bottled steak herb mix. This
mix includes various herbs that are used to flavor steak.
Only use thick cuts of meat when cooking. This will ensure
that the meat will be cooked through. Ideally, your steak
should be at least 3/4 inch thick. Anything thinner usually
results in overcooked and tough meat.If you want to get
beautiful grill marks on your steak, use a griddle pan.
Otherwise, you can use a regular pan.During cooking:
– Heat the pan very hot before placing the steak on it. Then
turn the heat up to medium high. – When frying, turn the
steak once with kitchen tongs. Do not move the steak
around while it is cooking.
