Are you legally expected to care for a patient regardless of their lifestyle? - Yes Assault - An unjustified attempt or threat to touch someone. Autonomy - free to choose Autonomy - Free to choose. Autonomy (Potter, Perry, and Stockert 2015) - Respecting a patient's independence and right to determine a course of action. Basic Nursing Care - Nursing care that can be performed safely by the LPN/LVN, based on knowledge and skills gained during the educational program Basic Patient Situation - Patient's clinical condition is predictable. Medical and nursing orders are not changing continuously. No complex modifications of nursing care is needed Battery - Means to cause physical harm to someone. Beneficence - Do good
