OTITIS MEDIA Assessment: Acute Otitis Media Pharmacologic: 1. Amoxicillin 750 mg BID for 7 days. Amoxicillin is a first line therapy for children who have no allergy to penicillin and have a low risk of beta lactam resistance. Most common pathogens are Streptococcus pneumoniae, Hameophilus influenzae, and Moraxella catarrhalis (Rosenthal & Burchum, 2018, p. 1016). 2. Ibuprofen 150mg q 6 hours for pain and fever.
