Maternal health and development
- How could we see this from a capability approach: It shows the freedom of the
lecturer, she could bring here baby, making it capable for her to give a lecture well
being on maternity leave.
Fertility in Uganda
- The in class discussion was on lowering fertility we should focus on development and
on family planning. Linked to the DTM and fertility rate -> fertility rate in ugana is
staying high, how can we bring this down and should we bring it down?
Conference Migration and development
- discussion was mainly on north african migration from an european perspectives.
- And how should europe help africans -> one perspective was that we need to help
them (HRBA), they have rights.
- A lot was US (europeans) and THEM (africans).
