This is the second part of the notes from week 2 of the SPNH 420: Introduction to Translation course at Eastern Michigan University. The second week covers chapter 2 of Washbourne's Manual of Spanish-English Translation. These notes in particular focus on the different types of translation, different linguistic strategies such as connotation or denotation, use of a dictionary and what to be made aware of, and cognates. The notes utilize mostly Spanish, but switch to English here and there. This is exactly how the professor will show it on her slides, but will only teach it verbally in Spanish.
