How Virgin Recruits

Now Virgin uses a recruitment process where they go through a series of stages
before being recruited as they recruit externally and internally, which I think is
the greatest way to recruit, however there are two types of recruiting which are
internally and externally. Internal being recruiting within the business and
External being recruiting outside the business.

Internal advertising means that the job will only be advertised within the
business. This can be done if a current employee wishes to be prompted or to
motivate current employees.

they can do for you and the recruitment team also advise you to ask questions
for them so it is not just a call of you motivating yourself to join.


This interview process will be for people who are looking for a job such as
talking to people on the phone like a support team.

Video Interviewing-

Another way they recruit is by recording the candidate themselves answering
predefined questions whether it's about them or what they know about Virgin,
this can be during the day or night, seven days a week. However, they also have
an advantage as the get a little “hint and tip” video prerecording and they say
“it’s to help you get the most out of your time available” and all they ask for is
for you to answer the questions and use a suitable camera angle, be in a place
calm and quiet where you will not be disturbed.
They use this process of recruiting to see how you are recording yourself and
how good you are at remembering questions. They also use this because they
want to see your confidence and who you are as a person.

Advantage/Disadvantage of a video interview

An advantage of Virgin using video call is that it can be from the comfort of
your own home as Virgin do say “only this time it doesn’t matter if you’re still
wearing your PJ bottoms” so you can be comfortable which can also boost your
confidence as you feel warm and relaxed another advantage is that you can
finally see face to face to first impression will count it also give a rough idea in
the applicants and interviews head on what type of person you are and how it is
like in the workplace. Finally, another advantage is that the interviewer can
assess your communication skills, so if you do not get the role, you may be put
in another role where you will feel more comfortable, which Virgin likes to do.

On the other hand, the disadvantage of recruitment this way is that if people do
not have clear internet connection it will be hard to interview these types of
