Geography - ANS a study of where people, places, and things are located and how they are related to each other. GIS-Geographic information systems. - ANS Uses computer technology, to collect, manipulate and analyze data. Absolute location - ANS where a place is on the globe (coordinates) Hemispheres - ANS halves of earth Relative location - ANS where a place is compared to other places nearby Character of a place - ANS comprised of a place's physical and human characteristics Perception - ANS viewpoint influenced by ones culture and experiences Formal regions - ANS certain characteristics found throughout the area Functional regions - ANS central place and surrounding areas affected Perceptual regions - ANS defined by people and their feelings, opinions, etc. How do geographers use tools to study the earth? - ANS They display data which helps solve global problems.
