It was all based on money if more slaves worked in the fields, the land owner would make more money for selling the product. What was the primary reasons for European countries to explore other lands? - Separate themselves from the Church of England What is the Columbian Exchange? What did it do to Europe and North America? - Columbian Exchange is the exchange of that happened between the old and new world. It exchanged things such as fall harvest foods, fruit, and diseases between the two countries. Why did many young nobles migrate to the colonies? - 1. Desire to spread Christianity 2. Trade/wealthy merchants 3. Didn't want to be part of the Church of England What did some of the English settlers at Jamestown not want to do? - They didn't want to be apart of the Church of England because it was too corrupt, they made the Mayflower compact to protect them from eviction. When did the population of colonist become a catalysts to expansion in the West? - 1820 Why did the Spanish not develop deep roots in North America? - The Spanish sought quick profits and were dissuaded by clashes with Indians believing that it would not be worth the investment to establish permanent colonies.
