Team Dynamics in BLS for healthcare providers
Define chest compression fraction and target value.
1. Chest Compression Fraction=proportion of time compressions performed during cardiac arrests.
Requires use of CPR feedback machine.
2. At least 60% with goal of 80% in high performing teams.
List tasks performed by a team leader.
1. Every resuscitation team must have defined team leader.
2. Assigns team member roles.
3. Makes treatment decisions.
4. Provides feedback to the rest of the team.
5. Assumes responsibility for roles not assigned.
List 3 roles in Resuscitation Triangle of Life and tasks associated.
1. Compressor- Assess patient, performs chest compressions, switches with the AED/monitor every 5
cycles.
2. AED/Monitor- brings in & operates AED, positions monitor so it can be seen by everyone, switches
with compressor every 5 cycles.
3. Airway- opens and maintains airway, provides ventilation.
