Unit 6 - Energy Challenge: Respiration Questions and Answers Solved Correctly
Cellular Respiration - The process of how cells get energy. Glycolysis - Glucose is partially broken down in the cytoplasm. Produces ATP but also uses it to run. From 1 glucose, 2 ATP, 2 Pyruvate, 2 NADH were produced. Glucose - The smallest carbohydrate. Pyruvate - Broken down food molecule produced during glycolysis in the cytoplasm. NAD+ - An electron carrier used in cellular respiration. NADH - NAD+ once it has picked up an electron/ and electron transporter. Aerobic Processes - Processes with oxygen. Anaerobic processes - Processes without oxygen. Methanogenesis - The biological production of methane gas. Uses carbon dioxide and hydrogen to make water, methane, and ATP. Krebs Cycle - The second step in cellular respiration. Chemical reactions occur in the mitochondria. Uses the products of glycolysis and produces several NADH electron molecules and carbon dioxide. FAD - An electron carrier. FADH2 - FAD once it has picked up an electron/ a electron transporter.Electron Transpor
