Introduction
In this report I will analyse the legal, ethical and operational issues in relation to the
use of business information, using appropriate examples.
Operational issues
Risk Assessments: Risk Assessments can be used are when, there are risks or
hazards for the Company. Risk Assessments will then help to create awareness of
such risks and then ultimately create adequate control measures for them.
These assessments are about identifying sensible measures to control the risks at a
workplace. It helps the business decide whether they have covered all essential
areas. With this, Enterprise rent-a-car knows whether they have to look at certain
areas and build suitable measures to it in more detail.
Code of conduct: Code of conduct is a set of rules that outlines the rules,
responsibilities of an organisation. This agreement has to be signed by every
business so that their customers know that they abide by the rules and regulations of
the society. Enterprise is designed to value their clients they work with and the
service they provide. The Code of Business Conduct sets out Enterprise commitment
on how to do business in a fair way e.g. customers, colleagues, investors, suppliers
and subcontractors, as well as the wider community with honesty, integrity and
respect.
Ethical issues
Ethical issues are issues or circumstances that require an organisation to choose
between methods or alternatives. At Enterprise rent a car they must evaluate it as
legal or unethical. These circumstances affect how Enterprise will make their
decision making and lead their business.
Business ethics: Business ethics are moral principles concerning acceptable and
unacceptable behaviour by a business.
At Enterprise rent a car they have a code of practice on their use of the internet, for
example they will use this on the use employees can use it and cannot.
At Enterprise they have many policies to ensure that their businesses practices with
regard to information can be done more ethically. This could be anything from how
they manage information to ensuring marketing and other business practices are fair
and just.
Most customers are unsure about providing their data to a business and hence the
Privacy Policy, ensures that they know what the business will do with their data.
There could also be some fake businesses online, to which customers unknowingly
give their details to. Only if that website provides an effective Privacy Policy, will the
