Developing Effective Team Skills Though Practical Activities
Developing team skills is essential for the work place environment. It helps to swell a positive
atmosphere that tends to improve the rate of productivity and level of enjoyment an employee may
receive while doing so.
Show the Ability to Work as a Team Leader and Team Member Through
Active Participation in Team Activity
On the 5th October 2022, I managed to organise a day event at
Betteshanger Park. Obtaining the role as event planner, I ensured that
completed all tasks ad responsibilities that came with this. Overall, I
organised the transport to and from the event location, the venue
itself, all costs involved, lunch breaks as well as the entire scheduling
and contents of an event.
On their website there was a school booking form that I filled and the
sent off to the Bestteshanger team to retain confirmation of the
event.
After receiving confirmation from the company, I developed a rough
timetable that I could work around that allowed enough time for the events to be completed. When
booking the school minibus, I contacted potential drivers who would e free to take us on this day. An
issue arose, that I had to return the minibus by 2:00pm, which allowed me to alter the schedule to
ensure these requirements would be met, considering unpredictable issues like traffic.

Throughout the day, we underwent a series
of team building activities that helped us as a
group to build new and strong relationships,
proofing the essential purpose of team
building exercises. In the photo to the right, it
evidences my interpersonal communication
skills and my ability to instruct a group on the
rules and regulations of the event my group
and I panned, which was orienteering. In this
event we would provide maps with different
points dotted on the maps. If a team reaches
a destination noted they would gain allocated
points for the visitation which they must prove through a phot of each location. While guiding the
competing teams on the rules, I made sure to capture everyone’s attention and confirm that there
were no misunderstandings in what was being asked of each player. I managed to achieve this
through asking if anyone had any questions that was needed to be answered before they began. In
