Phishing tactics can take place whether it’s your personal life are your work life. It’s important to recognize the consequences of falling for a phishing attack. Within this paper, I intend to discuss what types of scams are associated with the cybercrime? Such as what might the profile be for a cybercriminal who commits this type of cybercrime, what are law enforcement initiatives to combat this crime, what are penalties for committing these crimes, and how it affects individuals and organizations, and how security awareness and training tools can be used to reduce the threat of these attacks? Some of the problems that arise with Phishing in our personal lives are money being stolen from our bank accounts, fraudulent charges on credit cards, tax returns filed in our names, loans access to photos files, etc. fake social media posts made in our accounts, and what about our work lives, loss of corporate funds, exposed personal information of customers and coworkers, outsiders access to confidential communications, files, and systems, Files become locked and inaccessible, and damage to employer's reputation. Phishing is a crime that is committed through the internet, it targets are contacted byemail, telephone or text message it is done by someone pretending to be from a legitimate institute are organization to lure individuals into providing sensitive data such as personalclassified information, banking, and credit card details, and passwords. Once obtaining this information they are able to access all important information on your accounts which then becomes identity theft and financial loss. While the people carrying out this task have continually developed more sophisticated methods of crime,on the other hand, businesses have been continuously searching for solutions on how to protect their customer’s personal data and increase their email security. While most of the organizations around the world are battling for better and safer solutions, most of them are taking intermediary steps to prevent phishing. Criminal profiling is both art and science;it’s about a general truth based on limited or incomplete evidence, it’s knowing the kind of people that usually commit specific kinds of criminal crimesthat can be very helpful in catching and prosecuting the offender. If you were to set the scene of the cybercrime, there criminal profiling would be a mental or emotionalevaluation and it would be made without knowing the identity of the criminal. It would also include personality characteristics and would even include a physical characteristic. Fitting the profile didn’t mean a person committed the offense, but profiling helps to narrow the playing field of the accused and would help eliminate some people from suspicion. These profiles used both statistical information; they call that inductive profiling and common sense which would be the testing of a hypothesis, which would be called deductive profiling which would be formulating profiles. Profiling tells us only about the typical cybercriminals, those people use computers and know the networks well to commit the crimes that they do. Certainly, there are some exclusions but many of cybercriminal’s exhibitmore or less of most of the characteristics. Cybercriminals must have an extraordinary tolerance for danger or need for excitement, they also control freaks; they enjoy manipulating, and love outsmarting others. They certainly have disrespect for the law or rationalizing laws they feel oughtnot to apply to them. Theirreason for committing the offense is always for financial gain, strong feelings, political or religious beliefs, or even just ennui or the need for a little fun. Cybercrime is criminal, profiling is a psychological evaluation made without knowing the identity of the criminal. There is no initiative for the law enforcement but the FBI has a department dedicated to cybercrime. As laws change and technology evolves, predicting the future is difficult, law enforcement leaders will need to look at the current trends and existing technology in order to think about issues that will affect the upcoming generation of officers and leaders. A compelling need exist to better address the requirement of State and local law enforcement agencies in detecting, investigating, and prosecuting individuals who commit phishing scams are any cybercrimes.
