Violence Against Women Introduction Violence against women and girls or gender-based violence is a global pandemic that touches 1 in every three women in the course of their lives. That totals to approximately 33% of the worldwide female population. About 35% of the global women population have in one way or the other experienced either sexual or physical violence involved with their sexual or non- sexual partners. The numbers show that about 7% of the global women population have experienced sexual assault from other people other than their intimate partner. Furthermore, there have been approximately 38% of women murders globally committed by their sexual partner.
