Effects of Immigration on America
Effects of Immigration on America The U.S. has a long history of receiving immigrants from different nations across the globe. Immigrants and their children contribute to the country's economy, the vibrant and changing society. America offers opportunities to the immigrants who hope to be integrated into society by embracing offering service in exchange for citizenship. Today there are approximately 41 million immigrants in America. They represent 13.1% of the U.S. population. The U.S. born or second-generation immigrants amount to about 37.1 million or 12% of the total population. Therefore, the two generations combined play a vital role in American society. Some people believe that immigrants negatively affect the nation. others see them as a product of the American dream as they come to the "land of opportunity." But I think that immigrants bring forth positive and constructive changes that America can benefit from.
