Napster and YouTube Intellectual Property
Napster and YouTube Intellectual Property Recent estimates by major tech companies show that the internet has grown exponentially by a thousandth factor. The webpages have increased from 29 million to more than 25 billion from 1998 to 2006. The number of indexed websites was 13.86 in 2011 February (Roser et al.). Consequently, this has created a great avenue for companies to spread their campaigns and messages globally. However, the same avenue has also made a fertile ground for abuse for infringement of copyrighted media, as seen in the case of Napster and YouTube.
