Abstract
The pandemic has surely changed the way we live our lives. As social beings, we are now
limited to engage in face to face activities. With limited contact, this has changed communication
forever, especially for businesses. Firms have to deal with limited communication, and as a result
have resulted in online communication, which has its pros and cons. Online communication led
to new forms of leadership, thus leading to non verbal communication to play a bigger role in
today’s world.

Introduction
During the Covid - 19 pandemic, the world transitioned mostly to a digital environment.
Organizations are obliged to follow work-from-home program protocols, which often require
them to do all tasks and communicate entirely through digital platforms. As the global market
has evolved online, a significant number of firms have struggled to retain successful leadership.
In this situation, nonverbal communication is critical, especially for maintaining leadership and
corporate operations. Kinesic, artifacts, paralanguage, proxemics, and haptics are all types and
examples of nonverbal communication (Fatt, 1998). Communication is proven to be a critical
success element in a variety of fields, including increasing productivity, improving employee
satisfaction, and being recognized as a great leader (Graham, Unruh & Jennings, 1991). Thus,
